Seth Rogan and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogan, have taken on Alzheimer’s Disease as a personal mission. Lauren’s mother is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s. She was only 55 when diagnosed. Their foundation is called Hilarity for Charity but they are serious about ending Alzheimer’s. They have recently partnered with Home Instead Senior Care® to offer in-home care services to eligible families. Home Instead franchisees are donating 37,000 hours of in-home care, valued at $740,000.
Caring for Alzheimer’s Patients Takes Patience, Time and Money.
Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia requires an enormous amount of patience and time. These donated hours of care will go a long ways towards keeping these families together and easing the burden on the caregivers.
As the US population ages, the need for products and services to help adult children care for their parents will continue to grow. The model of care is still evolving but everyone will need to pitch in: foundations, private companies, family members and governmental agencies. It’s awfully nice, though, when high-profile entertainers, like Seth Rogan, his family and friends, lend their names, their creativity and their pocketbooks to helping solve this looming crisis of care.
Kudos to Home Instead Senior Services as well for aligning their charitable giving with something they know very well—in-home care for dementia sufferers.
